- 2 lbs. extra-lean ground turkey (or 2 boneless chicken breasts, cut up small)
- 2 celery stalks, chopped
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 medium carrot, grated
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 Can (8oz) tomato sauce
- 1/2 C. reduced-sodium chicken broth
- 1/4 C. hot sauce
- 2 T. brown sugar
- 2 T. red wine vinegar
- 1 T. worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- hamburger buns
- 1 C. crumbled blue cheese, optional (I used cheddar, not a fan of blue cheese!)
You can make this sandwich with either chicken or ground turkey. I have only made it with chicken, it’s wonderful. The baked beans go perfectly with this!
Directions:
In a dutch oven, cook the first five ingredients over medium heat until turkey is no longer pink (If using chicken, do not precook, put in pot raw). Stir in the tomato sauce, chicken broth, hot sauce, brown sugar, vinegar, worcestershire sauce, and pepper; simmer for about half hour on low until mixture thickens. Serve on buns; sprinkle with blue cheese if desired.

Quick Baked Beans
Ingredients:
1 Can Bush’s Vegetarian Baked Beans
2 Tbsp brown sugar
1/4 lb. bacon, cooked and crumbled
1/2 medium onion, diced
1 tsp. worcestershire sauce
1 tsp. red wine vinegar
1/2 tsp. mustard
2 Tbsp ketchup
Directions: Mix all together, bake at 350 for 40 min.

If I were to use the chicken instead of turkey how do you do the first step when you mix all 5 ingredients? Do I chop it up into small chucks uncooked and thrown in there or boil it and then put it in there?
Yea, like you said, just chop it up into small chunks uncooked and throw it in there! Are you making this tonight?!
Tonight or Saturday.
