- 1 avocado, peeled and pitted
- 1 cup milk
- 1 1/2 cups ice cubes
- 2 tablespoons sugar (more or less to taste)
- 3/4 teaspoon vanilla (more or less to taste)
My friend, Ashley, has posted often on her blog about these avocado smoothies that her family likes. I couldn’t imagine how an avocado smoothie could be very appetizing, but I had to give it a try because she knows her food! I got my 4-year-old all excited about it and she was pumped to help me make it. She gave it a few sips and said that she liked it, but wasn’t tooooo impressed because she really wanted a vanilla milkshake. I, however, was delightfully surprised at how good it was! I was about to drink the whole thing myself, when I looked at my almost 1-year-old who was doing what I like to call “the windshield wiper” with her arms on her high chair tray… knocking all of her veggies to the ground for our dog to eat. I filled up her sippy cup with the smoothie and she sucked it down, barely coming up for air and then she grunted for more! haha! Success!

Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Makes about 3 servings. **Banana tastes good blended in, too! And I think its better with more rather than less ice!
