- 1 1/2 - 2 pounds thinly sliced beef, Round steak
- 1/2 stick butter
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1/2 tsp. pepper
- few sprinkles of hamburger grill seasoning (optional)
- 1 large carton beef broth ( you will use probably 3 cups)
- 1/2 C. worcestershire sauce (divided)
- 3/4 C. Sour Cream
- 2 T. Corn Starch (for thickening)
- Egg Noodles
This is a staple at our house. There are very few ingredients (bonus), the house smells soo good while cooking (bonus), great flavor (bonus), AND the kids love it too (that’s all that matters)!
Using a deep pan, saute beef in chopped onion and butter until meat is browned. Add 2 cups of beef broth (or enough to cover beef) and 1/4 C. worcestershire sauce. Simmer for 1.5 hours, stirring occasionally. Next add one more cup of beef broth and the rest of your worcestershire sauce and continue to simmer for 30-45 more minutes until beef is very tender. You will have to be the judge, the cooking time may not be exact. Add the extra beef broth and sause when you notice there isn’t much left in the pan, don’t let your meat stick to the bottom of the pan. Next add sour cream and cornstarch (mix cornstarch in some cold water before pouring, according to pkg instructions) and continue cooking for about 5 minutes or until sauce thickens. Serve over noodles. DELICIOUS!
