I have seen these Advent candles for awhile now and always wanted to get one, but it always slipped my mind until it was too late.  Well, I finally remembered this year and when it came in the mail I was so excited that we’d get to use it this Christmas season!  I think it’s a great way to get everyone around the dinner table in the evening, too!  Starting December 1st, light the candle each night at dinner (or breakfast or whenever your family can gather) and let the candle burn down past that date and then blow it out till the next day!  Kids or no kids, this is a great way to anticipate Jesus’ birthday!  It occurred to me after looking at the candle that I could probably make one, too!  So off I went to the dollar store and created the same idea for a fraction of the one that I bought!  This could also be done for other holidays or exciting events to come!

Directions:

Set your candle in your candle holder and measure the length of the candle you have to work with.  Divide that by 25 and write your numbers down the length of the candle.  You could do a little hash tag next to each number if that helps!  Make sure your permanent marker is juicy (haha) or it will not write well on the wax.  Finish off with some ribbon or a Christmas sticker at the bottom and enjoy!
