• 1 30oz. bag of frozen, shredded hash browns {I used Ore Ida}
  • 3 14oz. cans of chicken broth
  • 1 can of cream of chicken soup
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 1/4 tsp. ground pepper
  • 1 pkg. cream cheese (regular, not fat free)

Was hesitant to make this given the short list of ingredients. I read on another blog somewhere that this was wonderful and it was her husbands favorite soup. I have listened to advice before about recipes and have been disappointed MANY times (you are probably thinking the same thing about this blog, hey now! stop that! I only post things that have great taste…at least I think I do!) It took me less than 10 minutes to throw this together before I went to bed yesterday. All I had to do when I got home today was cook up some bacon, shred some cheese, and cut up some green onions. Voila!

 

Directions:

In a crockpot, combine everything EXCEPT for the cream cheese.  Cook for 6-8 hours on low heat.  About 1 hour before serving, add cream cheese and keep heated until thoroughly melted.  Serve with cheese, sour cream, bacon bits, and green onions.
