- 1 pound lean ground turkey
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried sage
- 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (more or less to taste)
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- Kosher or sea salt to taste
Anything with the word “skinny” in it sounds like it has a possibility of not being good.. right?! At least that’s what I always think when I read a recipe. I should be thinking positive thoughts when it reads “skinny” but I think I was brainwashed as a child that the more butter/grease that is used, the better it tastes! Ha! Thanks grandma. Anyways, I made this today, ate some and froze the rest. I think it’s a pretty good alternative to a greasy sausage patty for breakfast. I wouldn’t say it tastes exactly like sausage, but it does have a good flavor to put along side your other breakfast favorites.
Combine all ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Make sausage patties to desired size and thickness. Uncooked patties can be frozen up to one month. Add patties to a large skillet and cook on medium-high heat until brown on both sides and cooked through.
