Valentine’s Day is only a couple of days away and there are lots of easy ways to say “I love you!” that won’t cost an arm and a leg! First and foremost… a heart-shaped pan or cookie cutter! It can turn an ordinary cake or a PB&J into so much more. I often do this with my girls’ sandwiches… you’d be surprised how much more willing they are to eat their sandwich when it’s in the shape of a flower!
And that cake? It’s my favorite cake. Ever. It was my Oma’s strawberry cake recipe and I promise one day I will post it for you! My mom had us over for dinner and made it in a heart-shaped pan for extra V-day pizzazz!
You wanna know what else she served? Are you ready for this?
That’s right. PINK Alfredo sauce! She was going to add a few drops of red food coloring to the pasta water, too, but I assured her that the pink sauce was cute enough. Ha! I’m not a huge fan of artificial food coloring, but I don’t mind it every once in a while!
If you want to do pink, but don’t want to do food coloring… you must check out Weelicious! She’s got countless fun ideas for fun kid food (and adults, too!) She’s got Raspberry Cream Cheese Heart Tarts and so much more. Plus natural ways to make things pink with raspberries and beets, etc!
Strawberries, Raspberries, Plums, Watermelon, Craisins, Strawberry Cream Cheese, and other red/pink foods would be festive Valentine’s Day grub.
Check out our previous Valentine’s Day ideas, too!
We’ve got Cool Whip Hearts…
Pie Pops are pretty darn easy and crazy cute!
Crepes would be a fantastic breakfast idea. Who am I kidding? I’ve definitely made crepes for dinner before, too!
I can’t help but think that Chicken Parmesan and Valentine’s Day would be the perfect combo!
Chewy M&M Cookie Bars with pink M&M’s = I Love You!
Food is definitely a fantastic love language! Show someone you care with something delicious this year (and maybe something crafty, too)!
And Happy Valentine’s Day to YOU!
